Blender Versions Supported by Brender Cloud
At Brender Cloud, we ensure compatibility with a wide range of Blender versions to meet the needs of all users. Our platform supports both Long-Term Support (LTS) and non-LTS versions of Blender, allowing you to work with the version that best suits your project requirements.
Default Supported Versions
Brender Cloud uses all LTS versions of Blender starting from version 3.3.0 LTS. Additionally, we support all non-LTS versions from the latest release up to the next LTS version. This ensures that users have access to the most recent features while maintaining stability with LTS versions.
Currently Supported Versions:
- LTS Versions: 3.3.0, 3.6.0, 4.2.0, 4.4.0
- Non-LTS Versions: 4.3.0
What Happens If Your .blend File Uses a Non-LTS Version?
Our system is designed to handle compatibility seamlessly. Here’s how it works:
- Version Detection: When you upload a
.blend
file, Brender Cloud automatically detects the Blender version used to create it. - Version Matching: The system matches your file with the closest LTS version that is equal to or higher than the detected version. This ensures maximum compatibility.
- Job Execution: If a compatible version is found, your render job proceeds. If not, the job will fail, and you will be notified immediately.
Staying Up-to-Date with Blender Releases
We strive to stay up-to-date with the latest Blender releases. However, there may be a short delay (a few days) after a new version is released. During this time, our team rigorously tests the new version to ensure it works flawlessly with Brender Cloud. Once testing is complete, the new version is added to our supported list.
Why Do We Prioritize LTS Versions?
LTS versions are stable, well-tested, and supported for an extended period. This makes them ideal for production environments where reliability is critical. Non-LTS versions, while feature-rich, are more experimental and may not be as stable.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What if my .blend file uses a version not listed above?
If your file uses a version not currently supported, Brender Cloud will attempt to match it with the closest LTS version. If no match is found, the job will fail, and you will be notified.
How often do you add new Blender versions?
We aim to add new versions as soon as possible after their release. However, there may be a short delay for testing and integration.
Can I request a specific Blender version?
Yes! If you need a specific version that isn’t currently supported, feel free to contact our support team. We’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
